INTRODUCTORY GRANTS
You may apply for an Introductory Grant by November 1 if your organization has never received a Clowes Fund competitive grant, or if your organization has not received a competitive grant payment within the past five years (2020-2024).
Introductory Grants are operating grants for $40K paid over two years ($20K per year). We use the Introductory Application to identify promising organizations that address our Immigrant Services and Workforce Development priorities, with a particular emphasis on organizations with budgets less than $2.5 million. Seek program officer guidance if your budget exceeds this amount (in New England, email Megan Reilly; in Indianapolis, email Juan Galeano).
Your first step is to submit an Introductory Application via the online GOapply portal. We encourage you to start the online application well in advance of the November 1 deadline!
An Introductory Application consists of:
An Application submitted online via GOapply.
An Introductory Application Narrative (PDF attachment to online GOapply application) with a brief description of your organization and who you seek to serve, explanation of how your work aligns with Clowes Fund priorities, and goals for the grant period. Narrative summary should be no more than two pages (all formatting requirements in box to right).
By mid-December, Fund staff will email either an invitation to submit a Final Application or a decline notification.
The Introductory Application process is highly competitive; fewer than 10% of applicants will receive an invitation to submit a Final Application. If invited, a Final Application will be due on February 1 via GOapply.
