The Clowes Fund - A Family Foundation

Information for Grantseekers

The Fund only makes grants to 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations that are also described in Internal Revenue Code section 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or (in certain cases) 509(a)(3) (please refer to Foundation Policies with questions regarding fiscal sponsors or supporting organizations). Funding is concentrated in three regions. Priorities vary among them:

Indianapolis, Indiana

We give priority to certain areas of interest in social services and primary and secondary education for Marion County and the seven contiguous counties.

New England

We give priority to certain areas of interest in social services, education, and arts education for the greater Boston area and for parts of southern Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Our geographical reach in New England depends upon our capacity to monitor grants properly in a given area.

Seattle, Washington

We give priority to arts education, especially music education.
